Training Opportunities for Teachers & Child Care Providers:

There are many professional agencies and organizations which offer a variety of training opportunities on a variety of topics. Some trainings offer clock hours of training, continuing education units (CEU’s), a one-year certificate or CDA credential.

Early Childhood Training Consultants
Child care providers and preschool teachers can earn up to 12 hours of training per year to meet the State Licensing requirements. Classes are offered monthly at our Sterling Heights location for a fee. Please call or visit the web site for class topics, dates and times.

Prevention Network
A statewide organization of volunteers and professionals, supports substance abuse prevention and related efforts in Michigan, provides services which build the capacity of diverse grassroots groups to carry out effective local solutions, and coordinates statewide awareness and advocacy initiatives.

Council for Professional Recognition
Created to improve the status of early childhood care providers, they operate the CDA credentialing program, define CDA standards, and provide publications on the latest trends in accreditation.

Michigan's Provider Alliance
Michigan's Provider Alliance promotes quality child care through provider education. MPA serves Michigan’s child care providers and other professionals interested in promoting quality environments for Michigan’s children.

Metro Detroit Association for Infant Infant Mental Health
The MD-AIMH provides opportuities for regional fellowship and support though programs, trainings and activities for those working with or on behalf of infants and young children and their families and caregivers, as well as those who seek to learn and grow in understanding of the social-emotional needs of our very youngest children.

Online Training Opportunities

The Perpetual Preschool
Various low-cost trainings offered, a certificate of completion will be issued upon completion.

Mid Michigan Child Care Food Program
Provides FREE online trainings for licensed day care providers.

Healthy Child Care
If you need CDA credit hours or CEUs in health and safety or your state licensing agency accepts online, self-instruction, or in-service training sessions as training hours needed for your annual childcare licensing, using Healthy Childcare® and the corresponding Study Guide may help you.

Child Care Training to go
For $10 per 2-credit class, you can earn training credits on your computer by using your e-mail address, a password of your choosing, and our agency identification code: ACD. Anyone can take these courses. Credits have been state-approved for providers in Michigan and Illinois.

Earn CEU's Online
Receive CEUs for reading Exchange articles!
